Apple Pear Meatballs

1 lb ground beef
1 medium sized Apple Pear
1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 jar General Tso sauce, or sauce of choice

rice or pasta, for serving (I used a mix of brown rice and quinoa in the photo)


Using a large grater, shred/grate the Apple Pear

In a large bowl, mix together the grated Apple Pear, ground beef, bread crumbs and egg with your hands.
Roll into 1" meatballs.

In a large saucepan, brown the meatballs. You may want to do this in small batches to ensure they cook well.

Return all meatballs to pan and cover with sauce. Simmer for 5-20 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.

Serve over rice.

Note: If using marinara sauce or something similar, try serving over pasta instead of rice.
